Social enterprise : challenges and opportunities

Abstract

The paper outlines and discusses the problems associated with defining\nsocial enterprise, and the ways in which governments and third sector\norganisations have looked to social enterprises as a means to address a\nvariety of social issues. The paper concludes with a discussion of the various\nchallenges and opportunities for the conduct of social enterprises, and for\nthe wider issue of how social enterprise can address wider structural issues\nin, for example, labour markets.
