Our paper is a preliminary study about J. V. Viqueira’s (1886-1924) joint working experience with his master G. E. Muller (1850-1934) in Gottingen Laboratory. In this study, we are going to focus on his only experimental publication in German language entitled «Lokalisation und einfaches Wiedererkennen» (1915 a). For that purpose, we are taking into account the methodology used at the laboratory. We compared this German article with the later version carried out by Viqueria for Junta para Ampliacion de Estudios ( JAE ) in 1916, titled «A new factor of identifi cation memory». We think that this approach allows us to understand the signifi cance of Viqueira’s work in the context of early 20 th century basic and experimental psychology, as well as keeping alive his contribution.
