Abstract

Este artigo trata dos fundamentos da preservação documental no Brasil. Parte de reflexões sobre pesquisa realizada nos regulamentos e relatórios de ex-diretores do Arquivo Nacional no períodode de 1824 a 1980, para discorrer sobre o momento fundador da preservação documental no Arquivo Nacional e seus desdobramentos atuais.Palavras-chave: preservação documental; informação arquivística; restauração e conservação. This article discusses the basis of the records preservation in Brazil. It departs from reflections on research carried out in the regulations and reports of ex-directors of the National Archives during the period from 1824 to 1980, to discuss the founding moment of the records preservation in National Archives and its current developments.Keywords: records preservation; archival information; restoration and conservation.
