Changes due to aging seem to be inevitable in all biological systems. Aging is a process of great scientific interest and very important from the clinical point of view, but the neurobiological base of this process are not well known. In this study, after explaining aging from the neuropsicological point of view and briefly reviewing humanity's interest in this process, we will see the different hypotheses that have emerged in regard to molecular mechanisms and neurobehavioral changes with age. Until now, the known facts suggest that the moderate drecrease of the mnesic process or the intellectual processing speed could be related to a gradual accumulation of normal anatomo-physiological changes in the brain during the aging process. Key words: neuropsychology, anging, molecular mechanisms, behaviour, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology.
