Abstract

At a growing rate, remains of much older cultures are being studied by both amateur archaeologists and professional scientists. As a result of their work, we are forced to change our perception of the Netherlands' prehistoric past. The Prehistory of the Netherlands offers a systematic portrayal in words and pictures of the developments up to the present. This clear reference work by prominent scientists from several Dutch research institutes, throws light on various aspects of the Netherlands to the beginning of the Christian era.
