Family and consumer sciences programs in colleges and universities submitted 331 titles of graduate research in 2009, an increase of 102 titles from the previous year. This represents the greatest increase in research productivity since 2006, most notably in dissertations. Not only does this illustrate the many important and challenging topics of study in family and consumer sciences, but also serves to document the significant contributions of scholars so vital to the field.
