Abstract

El artículo presenta dos categorías que pretenden contribuir al entendimiento del fenómeno sindical en las maquiladoras fronterizas. El estudio se divide en tres partes: en la primera, con la revisión de los estudios de distintos autores, se plantea una tipología para ayudar a una mejor comprensión del sindicalismo en las maquiladoras; la segunda presenta algunas evidencias empíricas, basadas en los casos de Piedras Negras y Ciudad Juárez, que permiten mostrar cómo estas categorías pueden servir para el análisis de casos particulares. Finalmente, en una parte conclusiva, se enuncian algunos elementos reflexivos que pueden incentivar la discusión en torno al sindicalismo en las maquiladoras.ABSTRACTThis article presents two categories that want to contribute to the understanding of the Union phenomena inside the U.S.-Mexican Border maquiladora industry. The study is divided in three parts. The first one characterizes the different kinds of union organizations, based on the author’s revision of diverse studies done by other researcher, in order to acquire a better comprehension of unions in the maquiladoras. The second part gives some empirical evidence from Piedras Negras, Coahuila and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, that shows us how these categories can help analyze particular cases. Finally, in the conclusion part some reflexive elements are presented as an incentive to the discussion on the union phenomena in the maquiladoras.
