The Colombian Institute of Family Welfare was created through Law 75 of 1968. This process involved different social, political, and economic events that characterized the national situation at the time and reflected social problems that required the institutionalization of a specific social policy for assistance to children, young people, and families. Social Work carried out valuable social intervention processes with families, thus making a significant contribution to the recognition of rights in this historical context.
