This paper deals with the petroglyph of Rio de Angueira II (Teo, A Coruna), whose most remarkable feature is the notable presence of riding scenes, one of them on a deer. The description and analysis of this site serves us as the basis for a reflection on the meaning and symbolism of deer riding and also to draw up some considerations about the chronology of riding scenes present in the Galician rock art based on the adoption of the practice of horseback riding itself.
