Abstract

The comparison of the language and style of the Tractat de la Passió and those of the editions of 1497 and 1513 clearly show that they were adapted to religious and linguistic sensitivity of the moment. The language of the abbess, cultured and popular at the same time, was not influenced by Corella. However, Aldonça de Montsoriu, curator of the first edition, tried to 'sell' the «elegant and sweet style» of the Vita Christi probably asking Miquel Peres to write the dedication, addressed to Isabella, Queen of Castile. Keywords: Isabel de Villena.
