Every public servant undergoes one form of training or the other in the course of their jobs. This study is aimed at finding out the effect training has on the productivity of public servant in the National Petroleum Investment Management Services. Data used for this study was collected from both primary and secondary sources. This includes the use of questionnaires, journal, textbook and publications of NAPIMS. Personal interviews were also used to collect data. Data collected was analyzed using Tables, simple percentages and chi-square. The findings revealed that training improved to large extent the performance of most workers in NAPIMS. Training improves competence of workers, updates their knowledge on their jobs, and helps them undertake certain task they could not do before training in the course of their jobs. The training received could be improved if workers were enlightened on the importance, if training was more frequent and if corporate training policy was reviewed so that it can be updated to meet current training needs.
