The article discusses specificities in the change of structure of economy in accordance with the types of economic activity in Russias federal okrugs with regards to the factors determining differences in their structure. The author singles out the okrugs where the structural changes are to a large extent determined by the general changes of economy in the country. Sustainable development of the regions requires formation of various types of economic structures.
