Cognitive potentials are an objective and noninvasive tool in order to evaluate the attention for some nosology entities, both for their diagnosis and prognosis values. Material and methods: This study presents an observational, prospective, transversal and descriptive design. The sample consisted of 14 patients presenting normal hearing, without having repeated the scholar grade. They had neither risperdal (risperidone) medication nor attention disorders. The cognitive potentials were performed using an auditory oddball (Neuromax XLTEKMR) before confirming the ear via integrity. Results: The patients’ ages ranged from 12 to 14 years old (SD = .82, with an average of 13 years old); the 57.1% of the patients (f = 8) were from the female sex, and the 42.9% of them (f = 6) from the male sex; the 57.1% of the patients (f = 8) attends the first grade of secondary. The 50% (f = 7) of the patients were diagnosed incomplete medullary lesion. The minimal latency was of 215.8 ms, and the maximum latency was of 275.8 ms. The amplitude ranged from 4.1 to 21.7 uV. There were significant statistical differences between latency/school grade; amplitude/school grade; age/latency, amplitude (p < 0.001). Conclusions: The cognitive potentials in patients with motor disabilities were similar to the potentials from other healthy students. This shows that they must have the same opportunities for educational inclusion.
