The demand of soy product in Indonesia is high (8.74% per annum), so that the rate of soy imported stays at a high level (1.2 million ton in 2008). The problem occurred dealing with the farming characteristic which is nature dependent and holds by the risk factors of the use of chemical fertilizer excessively will result the field???s productivity become low and unstable, so that the risk of getting failed is high. The objective of the research is to analyze the risk of soy farming production at various type of land with a differentiation on production level, and also to find the effect of using soy farming input toward the production risk. The analysis is based on the land???s type with a consideration that the farmer as the controller has a different motivation and facing a different kind of input and output???s price though it takes place in the same market. The research was conducted in three districts; Bone, Soppeng and Wajo by applying the analysis of binary linear regression with heteroscedastic method. The determination of the research location is based on purposive sampling with a consideration that, those three districts are the central of soy production areas. The result shows that the higher the productivity of a field; irrigated field, rain dependent field or dry land, the lower the risk the farmer should face. It is possibly happen since the farmer in the higher productivity area uses less chemical fertilizer such as Urea, SP36 and KCl, while they use more proportion of organic fertilizer.
