Abstract

MY INITIAL response when Dr. Sundquist assigned me the topic for today's paper was to search for a subtitle that would represent a capsule expression of the subject matter I actually intend to cover. The first subtitle that occurred to me was the question, Production Economics Really Dead? Initial reactions from my colleagues were sufficiently vigorous to lead me to attempt a second alternative, If Production Economics Is Not Dead Where Did It Go?
