This chapter talks about Kate who came for treatment for eating disorders, and was an individual with dissociative identity disorder (DID). She had 15 alters, each performing a different function that could be called into action when needed. The chapter explores, how over the years that Kate was in treatment, it was found that using multiple art forms were useful. Visual art and dance movement were the primary art forms used. Their use in a creative arts therapy and expressive arts therapy context, utilizing an arts-based methodology, is the backbone through which intermodality is explored in telling Kate's story in the chapter. Kate was able to achieve greater insight where there had been confusion and chaos before, eventually making peace with the family members and others who contributed to or were the origin of her internalized trauma.
