En el marco del proyecto UBACyT 01/2087, orientado a indagar en la contemporaneidad de los problemas planteados por Vigotsky acerca de la construccion de una Psicologia General, se presenta el resultado del analisis correspondiente a un item que compone la entrevista administrada a una muestra de informantes clave integrada por profesores universitarios que transmiten el conocimiento de la psicologia. En este trabajo se expone el resultado del analisis cuantitativo y cualitativo de las respuestas, basado en los conceptos recurrentes presentes en las argumentaciones de los academicos entrevistados. Se propugna que para el analisis de los procesos de significado, mas alla del proceso general que identifica a cualquier sistema abstracto, es necesario apelar a un tipo de analisis que haga deliberado hincapie en los aspectos sociales e historicos que subyacen a cada uno de los usos particulares de los terminos elegidos por los entrevistados. Palabras clave Psicologia Significado Profesores Conceptos ABSTRACT ABOUT THE DEFINITION OF THE FIELD OF PSYCHOLOGY: EXPLORATION OF MEANING IN THE VOICES OF UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS OF PSYCHOLOGY The following article is part of a series of investigations which are being carried out by our team within the UBACyT 01/2087 project. This project aims to inquire how contemporary the problems outlined by Vigotsky are, in terms of building the basis for a general psychology. We present a quantitative and qualitative analysis from one of the items included in a questionnaire taken to a representative sample of university teachers, those of whom transmit the knowledge of psychology to their students. This paper displays the results based on the recurrent concepts that appear in their responses. Our idea is that, in order to analyze meaning process, beyond the general processes that identify any abstract system, it is necessary to emphasize both social and historical aspects that may exist within the terms chosen by the people we interviewed in their speeches.
