El procesamiento simultaneo de la informacion da cuenta de la capacidad para interpretar el ambiente de manera visual al percibir e integrar muchos detalles a la vez; es util en tareas que involucran habilidades espaciales, necesarias para el desempeno en el ambito escolar. Con el proposito de describir este proceso cognitivo en ninos de nivel socioeconomico bajo de S. M. de Tucuman, se evaluaron 65 infantes escolarizados, entre 4 y 5 anos, a partir de la Bateria de Evaluacion de Kaufman para ninos (K- ABC). Ademas se aplico una encuesta sociodemografica a los padres y/o cuidadores, considerandose en esta oportunidad el nivel educativo materno. Se analizaron descriptivamente las puntuaciones en los tests cognitivos correspondientes a la Escala del Procesamiento Simultaneo. No se encontraron diferencias estadisticamente significativas en ambos grupos. Los desempenos en Ventana Magica, Cierre Gestaltico, Triangulos y Memoria Espacial fueron asociados estadisticamente al nivel educativo materno. Estos resultados parciales permiten discriminar aquellas habilidades espaciales involucradas en el aprendizaje escolar, tal como el reconocimiento de letras y numeros o el significado de ilustraciones u otros estimulos visuales, entre otras. To be able to describe this cognitive process in poor childrens to San Miguel de Tucuman, were valuated 65 shool - boys beetwen 4 and 5 years, with Kaufman Assessment Batery for Children (K - ABC). Besides was aplicated a sociodemographic survey to parents and guardians, considering the mother’s school level. Were analyzed the results in cognitive tests to the Simultaneous Processing Scale. Were not found significantly statistic different in both groups. The performance in Magic Windows, Gestalt closure, Triangles and Spatial Memory were associated with mother’s school level. These parcial results show up the special habilities involve in the school learning, as well as letter’s and number’s acknowledgement or illustration’s meaning and a anothers visual stimulus.
