Marx and Marxist writers in discussing worker revolt have been primarily concerned with the question of revolt against capitalism as a system. More recently, a literature has developed which looks at worker resistance which does not threaten the system. A major aim of this paper is to explain the lack of revolt in the former sense by a group of women packers in a New Brunswick fish-packing town. A subsidiary aim is to examine worker resistance in the latter sense.
