Abstract

The current situation of sparetime sport in 1300 college students of 16 colleges and universities in 10 cities and provinces was investigated, analyzed and discussed by consulting literature, questionnaires and onthespot interviews. Suggestions were put forward in allusion with the problems found in the study. It was indicated that to enhance the understanding of the importance of sparetime physical activities in departments concerned, to perfect the organization form of sparetime sport, to raise the utilization rate of the play ground and the facilities of the schools and to bring the teachers' functions into full play in sparetime physical activities are the urgent affairs in promotion sparetime sport in colleges and universities of China.
