Summarizes the advances in information needs research in foreign countries from fives aspects,that is:specific user groups,specific library,structures and models,factors that have an effect on user's information needs,the research methods.Discusses the advances in user satisfaction for information research in foreign countries from two facets,that is:satisfaction for information retrieval systems and libraries.
