Abstract

This paper,beginning with the perspective of the majorprospect,discipline construction and talent-cultivation model,holds thatChina’s transformationfroma bigtourismnation into a strong tourismnationreguires not only a great number of talents,but also high calibreand competitive professionals cultivated by tourism colleges.Tourismeducation should lay stress on segmental principle when establishingmajors.Tourismdiscipline is a strong demonstrative discipline.Practicalrequirements should be emphasized in terms of academic research andteaching methods.Prominence should be given to forming training interms of talent-cultivation model.Stress should be laid on theinteractivity betweenteachers,teaching materials andstudentstoachievecoordinated development.
