Abstract

When you have finished this chapter you should be able to: describe some of the main fields of pure and applied research in psychology; identify the relationship between research and the application of psychological concepts in therapy and in other areas of work; and be more aware of the career openings for psychologists and the demands which they make in terms of qualifications and the work itself.
