A few years before his violent death, the French philosopher Pierre de la Ramee, pushed by the religious turmoil in his country, toured the German and Swiss universities. At the end of the year 1569 and the beginning of the following year Ramus stayed in Heidelberg, the city where Rodolphus Agricola died, barely a century ago. In a letter dated 23 January 1570 addressed to his former pupil Theodor Zwinger, which is then professor of Greek at Basel, Ramus tells the story of the commotion caused by his course on Cicero's speech. In this letter, Ramus seems to identify the dialectic of Agricola within its own. The author examines the issue of passions in Ramus, turning to the works already mentioned in which Ramus attack treatises on rhetoric of Cicero and Quintilian and discusses the ramusienne method that is remembered, unique and universal. Keywords: Rodolphus Agricola; dialectic system; Ramus; Cicero's speech; Quintilian
