In the attempt to demonstrate creativity at the individual and the macro (i.e. society) levels, L. S. Vygotsky's theories on social development, which assert that interaction with others and involvement in the community are prerequisites to development, and that the end products of this socialization comprise of awareness and maturity, are here proposed. Vygotsky's theories set the grounds for constructivism, which assert three main subjects: the fundamental role of social interaction to cognitive progress, the acknowledgment of the people who have higher ability, and the definition of the zone of proximal development. Even though these ideas are well utilized and recognized in developmental psychology and education, Vygotsky's writings about the expansion of inventive thoughts and the influences of the ability to turn imagined things into reality on an individual's purpose and functioning can be operational in the in-depth understanding of creativity research.
