This chapter describes Iris Barry's visits to London and New York in the 1960s. The past few years had seen a steady deterioration of her relationship with Pierre Kerroux, who continued to drink and chase women. Eventually he became abusive and moved out to take up residence with a younger woman in the stable belonging to the Austins he had renovated across the street. In 1962, her son, Robin, who had become a successful architect and author, invited her to live in one of his properties in London. Motivated by adverse conditions with Pierre, Iris decided to return to England. She was also invited to be the honored guest of the New York Film Festival, to be inaugurated in September 1963. Since the festival was cosponsored by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), it seemed fitting to dedicate the festival to the founder of the MoMA Film Library.
