Abstract

Vagueness and comparison are linked in a number of different ways. The most obvious is that, at least when they are expressed by adjectives (in English), vague predicates have morphosyntactically comparative forms. These forms are often invoked in formulations of the inductive premise of the sorites paradox: These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
