The Framework of Islamic Methodology in the Social Sciences

Abstract

The principal objective of this chapter is to formalise the context of Figure 1.1 (hence Figure 1.1) by bringing to bear the details of unification epistemology (Tawhidi epistemology). In this formalisation some of the earlier terminologies will be invoked in their substantive sense: the concept of world view as opposed to paradigm and perception; the concept of process as opposed to reductionism and the mechanics of independence and methodological individualism; and the concept of global complementarity as opposed to marginalist substitution.
