Opening the Black Box of Editorship: Editors’ Voice

Abstract

In this chapter I examine the experience of academic-journal editors, building on data collected from over 50 editors of such journals. I explored their positive and negative experiences, what helped them and what hindered their progress, asking them what it takes to make a successful editor, what advice they would give to a novice editor, and about their route to editorship. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
