Abstract

I want to begin this exploration with two short textual quotations. The first will likely not be familiar to most readers: Her mouth was red, her face rose-red and her clothes were red from drinking the blood of her only-son and her mouth was crimson-red from the dark streams of blood that fell from [His] wounds, drinking and kissing the ground on which those waves of blood fell.
