Neutron activation analysis was employed on ceramics and clays (N=234) from the Mesa Verde region of southwestern Colorado. Quantitative analysis of the resulting data indicates that Mesa Verde variety Black-on-white bowls were locally produced at Sand Canyon and Castle Rock pueblos and up on Mesa Verde. Corrugated jars from Long House and Mug House were produced using different raw materials than the Black-on-white bowls. The results also indicate that ceramics were moved in and between the Sand Canyon and Mesa Verde localities.
