This study empirically examines the impact of monetary policy on economic growth in Iran over the period 1971-2011. The time series data for this period are methodologically compatible, so the variables that are used in the regression are the most appropriate, which allows drawing valid conclusions. The findings of regression analysis show that in the long run, economic growth has found to be significantly influenced by money supply, exchange rate and inflation rate. In short run, the results of estimated Error-correction model indicate that money supply and exchange rate significantly impact on economic growth.
