This article presents some of the most recent trends on feminine labor, particularly during the crisis of Taylorism and Fordism as well as during the start of the process of productive restructuring andflexible accumulation which began during the last decades of the twentieth century. We make use of substantial research and statistics on the increase of female labor such as wage differences, working hours (full time or part time), temporary job, underemployment and unemployment. In this sense, we highlight some experiences of European and Latin- American capitalism. In addition to this we analyze deeply the particularities of feminine labor in Brazil. The basic idea is to show that the expanding insertion of women into the world of labor in contemporary capitalism is on the one hand part of the complex process of women's emancipation, but on the other hand, it has produced a different kind of precarization of the work force, thus affecting women and the sexual division of labor more intensely.
