We have analyzed several kinds of archaeometallurgical material unearthed during recent excavations in the Colline Metallifere ore district: slags from Montieri (Palazzo delle Fonderie; S. Niccolò Rectory) and coins from the Montemassi Castle. Pb-isotope compositions of all coins fall within the compositional field of polymetallic sulfide deposits of southern Tuscany and far apart from the corresponding field of the Apuane Alps district, thus providing important clues for reconstruction of metal trades in Tuscany during the Middle Ages.
