Abstract This chapter examines the relation between the person and the corpse in the context of death. It analyzes whether the alternative to life after death is annihilation and discusses several arguments related to the person–corpse connection. These include the person/body argument, the essentialism argument, the psychological-continuity argument, and the dead-animal argument. The chapter also explains the concepts of corpse survivalism and corpse eliminativism.
