Library Science and Information Literacy Teaching and Learning Programming Information Systems Education and Curriculum Development

Abstract

This article reports the results of a survey about the teaching of computer programming and on-line searching of data bases taught in American Library Association accredited library school programs. The results of the survey show that library science students are acquiring a general knowledge of programming languages and computer application; but few schools require programming languages for specific course work or degrees.
