The aim of this study is to investigate whether BMIHMS students fit the pattern found in the literature. The theory is that after an IP experience, students gain a negative view of the hospitality industry and as a result, did not want to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. This study used a relativist research design while drawing from a case study research design. This research used quantitative methods through a student questionnaire to obtain results. A descriptive data analysis was used to review the results. It investigated how BMIHMS students felt about their work experiences, their decision to pursue or not pursue a hospitality career and the factors that influenced their career decision. This study found that the BMIHMS students did not follow the theory based on the literature. The majority of BMIHMS students felt that the IP was a positive influence on their career decision and wanted to pursue a career in the hospitality industry.
