Business environment: characteristics, structure, development, diagnostics

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the business environment of business entities. It was determined that in the scientific space there is no clear definition of the content of the term “business environment”, as well as various criterion approaches are used and there is no unified identification of the main structural elements. The author has proven that the business environment is a combination of factors in which business activities are carried out for the purpose of making a profit. For an enterprise, the external environment is a set of system-forming factors: communication factors (connecting environmental parameters), resources (auxiliary means), processes (ordered actions), subjects (legal entities and individuals). The internal environment of an enterprise consists of such factors as: owners of an enterprise (businessmen, entrepreneurs, shareholders, investors, founders), communication factors (intra-corporate formalized and non-formalized structure-forming norms, rules, values), resources (aids that are controlled by the owners), processes (orderly actions within the enterprise, controlled by the owners). It is noted that the peculiarity of the development of the business environment is a permanent change of factors by quantitative and qualitative parameters, respectively, the statement and description of the structure of the business environment are possible only at a certain point in time. The theories and common applied tools of management and marketing, on the diagnosis of the business environment are covered. The practical significance of the article lies in the fact that enterprises create a basis for developing applied mechanisms of socio-economic development, taking into account the state and influence of the business environment.
