Academic and Historical Perspectives in Psychology Management Theory and Practice Psychology Research and Bibliometrics

Abstract

The International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) aims to improve technical interventions on psychological processes in human groups and individuals. It periodically organizes international congresses; enhances communication among its members; edits journals, monographs, and handbooks; and maintains contact with national and international organizations and societies. Psychological functions of knowing, feeling, and willing became analyzed in an objective and empirical way, trying to gradually discover the basic laws governing the human mind. Evolutionary Darwinism, which completely changed the view of humans, putting them at the head of an evolutionary scale accompanied by the rest of living beings, provided a solid basis for this new science. An industrial revolution that substantially modified the way of life of millions and millions of men and women took place in Western countries in the early decades of that century. All sorts of people would benefit from a new psychology that was focused on individual differences.
