NEW FINDINGS ON THE MINING HİSTORY OF TURKEY AROUND TOKAT REGİON

Abstract

ABSTRACT. — The city of Tokat and its surroundings in the central Black Sea region are the important localities which provide various materials revailing the subsurface mining and the mineral processing techniques of the times of B.C. up to the recent. The first locality, having the indicators of Early Bronze Age, is the Almus, Tokat region. Nevertheless the age of the prehistoric subsurface mining in the Erbaa-Kozlu region, has been determined by utilizing the C-14 method. This is the only finding pertaining of the Anatolia. These findings are very important discoveries for the History of the Turkish Mining. I.
