Barbara is well known in Australia for her clinical work, her publications of books, chapters and papers and her psychological tests as well as her workshops and lectures. There is a section that Barbara writes on the work and status of one of her Australian colleagues and friends, Robyn Tate who is held in high esteem internationally. Barbara explains her daily diary she has kept for a total of 41 years and how this has helped in her autobiographical writings. She also describes the first trip she made to Japan with subsequent difficulties – overcome in later visits. At this first conference in Japan Barbara meets up again with Rohays Perry, head of Psychology Journals at Psychology Press, who was initially responsible for Barbara’s setting up and editing of the international journal Neuropsychological Rehabilitation . Barbara and Mick made a few trips to places of interest including Kyoto and the eating of a Japanese meal where guests ate whilst sitting cross-legged on the floor, much to Mick’s discomfort as he ended up lying down, on one elbow, whilst trying to eat with chop sticks. On another visit Barbara visited Hiroshima and, a colleague Toshiko Watamori has visited us in the UK. The chapter continues with Barbara’s accounts of trips to Brazil and India, descriptions of colleagues and friends in both countries, and places visited for holiday breaks.
