Relating the Arts to Education: The History of an Idea

Abstract

70's, a cursory reading of the document leads one to two impressions: (1) that it is mainly the arts that are having trouble; and 2) that many of the troubles blighting education today result from a neglect of the arts. What the Report attempts to do in popular form is to establish the claim that a curriculum that denies the arts their place in human experience denies the integrity of the curriculum as a whole.
