Abstract

This article outlines a methodology for distinguishing the main Latin sources for the Middle English homily collection Ormulum from subsidiary sources. In addition, Johannes Scotus Eriugena's 9th-century Commentarivs In Evangelivm Iohannis is identified as the main source for the homilies based on the Gospel of St John.
