Unconditional cash transfers for reducing poverty and vulnerabilities: effect on use of health services and health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries

Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: The primary objective of this review is to assess the effect of UCTs for reducing poverty and vulnerabilities on the use of health services and health outcomes in children and adults in LMICs. Secondary objectives of the review are: to assess the effect of UCTs on relevant social determinants of health and health care expenditure in LMICs; and to assess the relative effectiveness of UCTs compared with CCTs with regards to improving use of health services and health outcomes in LMICs.
