The 3rd International Web Science Conference has continued to address the full scope of socio-technical relationships that are engaged in the World Wide Web, based on the notion that understanding the Web involves not only an analysis of its architecture and applications, but also insight into the people, organisations, policies, and economics that are affected by and subsumed within it. This is the first conference of the series to be sponsored by ACM, through the Special Interest Group on Hypertext, Hypermedia and the Web (SIGWEB), and is also supported by the International Communication Association (ICA). The conference is unique in the manner in which it brings multiple disciplines together in creative and critical dialogue.
