Abstract

Dr. Joseph Matarazzo is an academic and clinical psychologist who is indisputably the parent of Clinical Health Psychology in the United States and internationally. Dr. Matarazzo is a visionary; through his decades of writing, teaching and advocacy he challenged professional psychologists to move beyond treating patients with exclusively mental health challenges to those experiencing medical illnesses, thereby laying the foundation for the now robust and growing field of Clinical Health Psychology.
