Abstract

Environmental protection is a global and current issue. Abroad, it happens to be discussed in special groups which are part of librarian associations. Also, some libraries which have integrated environmental issues in their management practices, do advocate on their actions. The aim of this study is to introduce what is done in France on this topic: why libraries are concerned with environmental issues ? How can French public libraries consider environmental issues? What are the main problems and potential solutions?
