(analytical)The article focuses on how the territorial mobility of young people in formal education who are from migrant families affect their intra- and intergenerational relationships. We used an ethnographic approach with young people in schools in Argentina. We show that based on the perspectives of the young people who participated in the study, the family migratory project is usually a source of intergenerational tension, primarily in how they engage with their education. In addition, experiences of multiple territories appear in the reconstruction of socio-educational trajectories associated with both situations in which they have felt discriminated or stigmatized by their peers and with opportunities to develop new friendships. In these contexts, we observed that the experience of "feeling different” converts into a "we” in which the meanings of friendship are constructed and negotiated. Keywords: Migration; parent-child relationships; peer relationships; youth.
