Analytic Hierarchy Process (Ahp)

Abstract

The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method, formulated by Saaty, is one of the initially developed MCDM techniques, in which an overall goal is followed by criteria, sub-criteria, and alternatives in a hierarchical arrangement. The AHP hierarchy consists of a goal, a number of alternatives for reaching that goal, and a number of criteria on which the alternatives can be judged that relate to the goal. One of the most practical issues in AHP technique is that it allows slight inconsistencies in the pairwise judgments. A software prototype was developed to ease out the computational complexities related to AHP calculations. A flexible manufacturing system (FMS) is a manufacturing technique that can quickly adjust to changes in the product’s variety and quantity. An FMS is a set of networked processing workstations with computer terminals that control the whole production process, from loading and unloading to machining and assembly, storage, quality inspection, and data processing.
