Abstract This chapter is a study in the pragmatics of moral discourse. It concerns who can say what to whom. It will, therefore, focus on moral reasoning as dialogue. First person moral reasoning may also best be thought of as a dialogue of the person with herself, but at least initially I shall be focusing on reasoning that takes place between at least two persons.
